New Delhi. Asia Cup 2023 is going to be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka this time. Pakistan announced their squad for the tournament long back. The Indian team was selected on August 21. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced the squad along with captain Rohit Sharma. Four teams have arrived for this 6-nation tournament while 2 are still awaited.
Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to be held from August 30 to September 17 in Sri Lanka and Pakistan. The tournament is to be played between the teams of India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and Nepal. India have become the fourth team to announce their squad for the tournament. Earlier Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal announced the team. Afghanistan and Sri Lankan teams are still waiting.
The 6 teams participating in the tournament have been placed in two groups of three each. Pakistan and Nepal are in Group A along with India. While Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka have been placed in the second group. Out of 13 matches of the tournament, 4 matches will be played in Pakistan while 9 matches will be played in Sri Lanka. The Asia Cup will begin with a match between Pakistan and Nepal on August 30 in Multan.
