Giving this information, Team India’s batting coach said that yes, Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan have been dropped from the T20 World Cup squad. Confirming this, he said that it was already decided that these two players would return to India after the group stage matches. This happened according to schedule and there are no surprises.

Four players were named as reserves in the Indian squad selected for the ICC T20 World Cup. The selectors named Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh as batsmen. Avesh Khan and Khalil Ahmed were retained as bowling options. Rinku Singh and Khalil are with the team while the other two have been sent to India.
