The hero of Namibia’s maiden victory in the T20 World Cup 2024 was none other than their most experienced player, David Wiese. The 39-year-old all-rounder stole the show in the Super Over against Oman and single-handedly led his team to victory. Batting first in this match, Oman set Namibia a target of 110 runs, however, the Namibian team was restricted to 109 runs and the match went into a super over. On this important occasion, the veteran player of the team, David Wise, raised his hand and contributed both in the batting and bowling department and led the team to victory.

Batting first in the Super Over, Namibia scored 21 runs in 6 balls. Out of which 13 runs came from Wiz’s bat. Wiz set the tone of the match by hitting a four off the first ball of the super over and a six off the second ball.

After batting, Wiz also took over the responsibility of bowling. Wiz continued to attack the Omani batsmen with yorkers to lead Namibia to victory. Wiz took just 4 runs off the first 5 balls with a wicket, although he hit a six off the last ball, but by then the match was in Namibia’s lap.

The third match of the T20 World Cup 2024 had a super over, 12 years in the history of the tournament.
