There is good news for MBBS students. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved increasing the MBBS seats in Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) in Tripura from the current 100 to 150. Now this college will have 150 seats. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said that the government is continuously improving the health care sector in the state and the government will leave no stone unturned in this.
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved Agartala Government Medical College to increase its MBBS seats from 100 to 150 seats. Talking about this, the Chief Minister said that this is a great achievement as it is giving ample opportunities to the aspiring medical students of our state to fulfill their dream of becoming a doctor. Chief Minister of Tripura Dr. Manik Saha gave this information on social media. Let us inform you that it is being said that the admission for these increased 50 MBBS seats will start from this academic session. AGMC started its journey in 2005 with 100 MBBS seats.
According to the National Medical Commission (NMC) website, there are a total of 706 government and private medical colleges in the country with 109145 MBBS seats. According to a Times of India report, MBBS seats in government medical colleges have increased to 56385. However, this increase is the highest in the last 15 years.
Through NEET, admissions to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS and various other undergraduate medical courses are conducted in all medical colleges of the country. Apart from this, candidates for Military Nursing Service (MNS) can also take admission in B.Sc Nursing course of Armed Forces Medical Service Hospital through NEET UG exam marks.
