75 attendance of teachers is compulsory in all medical colleges of the state

Read on the application

75 per cent biometric attendance registration has been made mandatory for medical teachers, senior residents and teachers in all medical colleges and hospitals in the state. Now their salary will be paid only on the basis of biometric attendance. In this regard, Shashank Shekhar Sinha, Special Secretary, Health Department, has sent a letter to the Principals and Superintendents of all Medical Colleges and Hospitals. The letter said that the National Medical Council (NMC) is monitoring and evaluating medical colleges and hospitals at various levels to improve their quality. In this, the NMC has mandated 100% biometric attendance registration of doctors in medical colleges and hospitals under the AEBAS system. As per the rules of MSR-2023, 75 percent attendance of all faculty, senior residents and teaching doctors is mandatory.

The review found the condition unsatisfactory. The health department has found in a review that the biometric presence recorded in the AEBAS system of doctors of medical colleges and hospitals on the NMC website is very unsatisfactory. NMC has also issued show cause notices to some medical colleges and hospitals in this regard, so ensure 100 percent attendance through biometric devices installed in medical colleges and hospitals. Also, at the end of the month, instructions have been issued to pay the salaries of medical teachers, senior residents and tutors of medical colleges and hospitals based on the attendance details recorded on the NMC Biometric Equipment (AEBAS) of their institutions.

The Principal and the Superintendent shall have full responsibility
It is further cautioned that if biometric attendance is not recorded in future and is unsatisfactory in the investigation by NMC, the entire responsibility will be on the Principal and Superintendent. It may be noted that NMC has installed biometric equipment in medical colleges under AEBAS system.
