New Delhi. Former Indian cricket team captain Sourav Ganguly has given a jaw-dropping reply to Michael Vaughan. Ganguly rejected former England captain Michael Vaughan’s statement in which the England legend raised questions about the broadcast according to India. Vaughan said that T20 World Cup 2024 matches are being played in the morning keeping in mind the Indian audience. Due to which the Indian team is benefiting more. And the pitches are designed to suit the spinners of Team India. The Indian team was knocked out of the T20 World Cup by defeating England in the semi-finals.
Speaking at an event in Kolkata on Friday, Sourav Ganguly said, ‘Michael Vaughan is a very good friend of mine. I don’t know how ICC helps India win cricket matches by telecasting at 8:00 PM. I don’t know how broadcasting can help you win cricket matches. You have to play the field and win. Even before Guyana (the venue of the semi-final match against England), the team has won at every venue and ground around the world.

Star batsman Virat Kohli could not perform effectively as an opening batsman in this World Cup. But Ganguly believes he should continue this. He said, ‘Kohli should continue to open the innings. He scored 700 runs in the World Cup just seven months ago. He is human and will fail sometimes. You have to accept it. People like Kohli, (Sachin) Tendulkar, (Rahul) Dravid are the legacy of Indian cricket. Three-four matches does not make him a weak player. He can do miracles in the final tomorrow.
Michael Vaughan further said, I know very well that money is very important in the world of cricket. I understand this even in a bilateral series, but when you play in a World Cup, the ICC has to be a little fair to everyone. When you play in the World Cup, you can’t sympathize or lean towards any one team in the tournament. This tournament is completely tailored for India. The T20 World Cup final will be played between India and South Africa on Saturday. Team India is on its way to become the champion for the second time while South Africa is trying to become the world champion for the first time.
