The Indian Army has dismissed reports claiming that no compensation has been paid to the family of firefighter Ajay Kumar. Rahul Gandhi also made a similar claim saying that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had lied that the family of Agniveer Ajay Kumar had been compensated.
The army has said that 98 lakh rupees have been given to Ajay Kumar’s family.
In a post on Twitter, the Army wrote, “Certain social media posts have claimed that the family members of Firefighter Ajay Kumar who lost his life in the line of duty have not been compensated. Such claims are completely baseless. Indian Army Firefighter Ajay Kumar was cremated with full military honours.” had come
Apart from this, the army has said that apart from this, an additional amount of Rs 67 lakh will be given to his family. After this the total amount will be around Rs 1.65 crore.
