New Delhi:
According to a Geo News report, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif hit out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and alleged that the opposition party was begging for relief after the retirement of former army chief Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Taking a dig at Khan, a senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said, “Rarely anyone has licked as many shoes as the PTI founder.”
Imran was secretly brought to the house of a general – Khawaja Asif
While addressing the National Assembly, Khawaja Asif quoted the comments of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) leader On Chaudhary. He alleged that Imran Khan was taken to the house of General (Retd) Amjad Awan, hidden in the trunk of the car.
Geo News quoted the federal minister as saying, “After Bajwa Sahib, they (PTI) are now trying to grab someone else’s feet. Hardly anyone has licked as many shoes as the founder of PTI.”
The comments came in response to PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan’s address in the lower house of Parliament, in which he criticized the federal government for presenting a budget against the country and the country’s interests. Ayub, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, said, “This budget was created by economic hitmen.”
Taking a dig at Ayub, Asif said his speech reminded him of his 20-year-old statements in which he praised PML-N leaders Nawaz and Shehbaz Sharif as he praised PTI founder Imran Khan.
The PML-N leader also criticized the opposition party for writing a letter to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), asking the global lender to link the fund with an audit of alleged election rigging, Geo News reported. “After coming out of power, the PTI wanted the country to default,” he said.
