Celebrations in homes, celebrations on the streets, celebrations across the country… After the Indian cricket team won the T-20 World Cup, there is celebration everywhere. This occasion of celebration has come after 17 years. In such a situation everyone wants to live these moments. In the final match played at Kensington Oval, Barbados, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling match. With this he won the ICC title after 11 years.
India won the T20 World Cup in 2007. Team India never lifted the T20 World Cup after this. The Indian team definitely reached the final of the T-20 World Cup in 2014, but faced defeat there.
India also shook off the tag of ‘chokers’ for the past decade by defeating South Africa in the final of the T20 World Cup, as it was India’s first ICC title since the 2013 T20 World Cup.
After the victory of Team India, the whole country was immersed in the atmosphere of celebration. Chants of ‘India, India’ echoed in the air and cricket fans thronged cities across the country to cheer on the ‘Man in Blue’.
A large number of people reached India Gate to celebrate the occasion in Delhi. Here the cricket fans celebrated enthusiastically. A sense of happiness and pride was seen on people’s faces as they sang patriotic songs and held tricolors in their hands.
People in different parts of the country, including Jammu, Hyderabad, Patna and Pune, were seen hugging and dancing as millions of cricket fans ended their years-long wait to win the World Cup title.
As soon as the match ended at 11:30 PM IST in Barbados, jubilant fans took to the streets and set off firecrackers. The whole country celebrated this victory which continued for several hours after midnight.
At the Mumbai airport, fans were seen dancing to the beat of drums and many people climbed on top of vehicles on the road. Cricket fans burst firecrackers on roads in Kolkata. In Bengaluru, many fans dressed as ‘Team India’ were seen dancing outside pubs and food shops.
Social media platforms were flooded with congratulatory messages and pictures capturing the festive spirit as the star-studded Indian team gave it their all to beat South Africa in a tightly contested final that kept the fans excited till the last moment. It was an excellent result of the T-20 World Cup with a record 20 teams in attendance.
