A person reaches a foreign country in ten steps, breakfast in Canada and dinner in America, how?

There are many places in the world, which will be surprising to know. At first it is hard to believe the existence of those places. But after knowing the reality, everyone was shocked. Today we are going to tell you about one such place. If you are asked do you know about the shortest international bridge in the world? Maybe most people don’t know about this. But let us tell you that a person living where this bridge is built can have breakfast in Canada and can have dinner in America as per his wish. Now you might be thinking how is this possible? So let us tell you that the shortest international bridge is built between two small islands located in a river, owned by a single person.

Because in 1793 the border between Canada and America was determined based on the river here. In such a situation, Javikon Island in the middle of the river was also divided into two parts. Two-thirds of the island went to Canada, while one-third came to the United States. In 1902, a businessman named Elmer Andreas built a German-style villa on the Canadian side of Jovian Island. The same man also built this wooden bridge on Javicon Island, located in the middle of the St. Lawrence River, to create a vegetable garden and pier around his house. Later this smallest international bridge was named ‘Backyard Border Crossing’.

The name of the bridge was given by the American press and they also called this wooden crossing as “the shortest international bridge in the world”. The bridge has a Canadian flag next to the larger island, while the smaller island has an American flag next to it. You may be surprised to know that the world’s shortest international bridge between America and Canada is about 32 feet long. In 1976, Donald Rickard and his wife Julie Rekai Rickard purchased the two islands. After this, the Hungarian flag was also hoisted on the bridge. A video post related to this has also been shared on Instagram, on which people are commenting heavily.
