Vidhu Vinod Chopra revealed in an interview that he made the film on a budget of around 12 lakhs, but when it hit the theatres, it made a lot of money. Made on a budget of just 12 lakhs, the film collected 9 crores worldwide. The special thing is that Vidhu Vinod Chopra played three roles in Parinda instead of 1-2. Not only produced and directed the film, he also wrote its script.

Not only this, Renu Saluja also received an award for the best editing of this film. Parinda won 5 awards at Filmfare.
