Afghanistan get World Cup revenge from Australia, then hero Maxwell fails

New Delhi. Afghanistan team has created a sensation by defeating Australia in the ICC T20 World Cup. During last year’s ODI World Cup in India, Afghanistan were on the verge of victory but Glenn Maxwell came to Australia’s savior and turned the match around with a double century. None of that happened in this match as Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan played his trump card and Maxwell lost his wicket.

The ICC T20 World Cup on Sunday 23 June saw a match that will always be remembered. Afghanistan team registered a historic victory against Australia. After losing the toss, the Afghan team scored 148 runs for 6 wickets on the basis of a century partnership between openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. Gurbaz scored 60 runs while Zadran was dismissed with an innings of 51 runs. Chasing the target, the Australian team collapsed for just 127 runs due to Gulbuddin Naib’s lethal bowling.
