Agreement between Airtel and Google Cloud for expansion of GenAI service in India

The agreement will accelerate the use of GenAI in the country and facilitate problem solving.

Bharti Airtel and Google Cloud on Monday signed an agreement to expand cloud adoption and generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) services in India, which will provide Airtel customers with access to Google’s cloud-based services. This will accelerate cloud adoption and modernization. “We are delighted to enter into an agreement with Google Cloud,” Bharti Airtel MD and CEO Gopal Vittal said in a statement.

CEO Gopal Vittal said, both companies are targeting the growing Indian public cloud services market. The sector’s turnover is expected to reach $17.8 billion by 2027. Airtel said it will offer cloud-enabled services to its more than two thousand large enterprise and one million emerging business customers.

Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian said, “Through this agreement, we aim to provide the best service to customers and solve their problems.”

Apart from this, Airtel has created an end-to-end IoT (Internet of Things) solution. To further strengthen its cloud-based solutions business that combines connectivity, Google Cloud Services and application software, Airtel has set up a service center in Pune with over 300 experts. They are being trained to further improve Google Cloud Services and develop world-class technical solutions.i
