Ahead of the Asia Cup, uncle is the chief selector of Pakistan team, nephew is wreaking havoc

New Delhi. Pakistan cricket team is always in the news for one reason or the other. Ahead of the Asia Cup, the team’s performance against Afghanistan is in the headlines. In the first match, the bowlers showed their strength and in the second match, the batsmen won the match handily and took control of the series. The nephew of the chief selector played an important role in the team’s victory.

The second match of the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan was very exciting. In a drama-filled match, the Pakistan team won in the last over. Afghanistan won the toss and scored 300 runs on the back of a 227-run partnership for the first wicket by Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. Gurbaj played a record innings of 151 runs.

Imam’s innings of 91 runs raised hope

The Pakistan team did not get off to a good start and lost their first wicket after adding 50 runs. After this came captain Babar Azam and was joined by the already playing Imam-ul-Haq, with whom the innings reached 170 runs. Imam shared a partnership of 52 runs for the first wicket and 118 runs with the captain for the second wicket. Shadab Khan and Naseem Shah won it in the last thrilling match.

Charm of Kaka Selector Bhajit

Imam-ul-Haq is the nephew of former Pakistan captain and current chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq. Before the Asia Cup, this batsman’s brilliant innings of 91 runs off 105 balls laid the foundation for the team’s victory. Hit only 4 fours in this innings but still had a strike rate of 86 which made the match. It is only because of Imam’s performance that he has managed to make a stable place in the team. Imam’s best score of 2871 runs in 61 ODIs is 151 runs. He is also included in the Asia Cup squad and will definitely be a part of the ICC ODI World Cup to be held in India.
