Farida Jalal told stories of the courtship period
In an interview given to Bollywood Bubble, Farida Jalal said that Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and their friendship is very old. He stated that both of them used to take her (Farida Jalal) on dates when their courtship was going on. Farida Jalal said that she was going to have coffee at the Taj Hotel in Mumbai.
When Amitabh and Jaya were fighting
Farida Jalal said, “I lived in Pali Hill and they both lived in Juhu. They were supposed to get married, but it didn’t happen. There was a courtship going on between them and as fights happen between each other, so do they.” Farida said that Amitabh was driving the car, I was sitting behind and Jaya was sitting in front. Both were fighting and I was watching. Jaya was crying and Amitabh was consoling her.
Farida said that I used to say to Amitabh and Jaya, “Why are you guys bringing me bone in kebab? Leave me, it’s time for my sleep. I went to bed early.” But both Amitabh and Jaya used to take Farida.
All three used to go to the Taj late at night
Farida said that the three people used to go to Taj at 11, 12 at night. Drink tea and coffee there. Then on the way back the film was discussed. Farida said she was feeling proud at that time. Amitabh used to tell what is happening on the set, how it is happening. The Hiramandi actress said that while returning, Amitabh used to drop me at home first and then both of them would go home. He said that the two of them used to fight and reconcile along the way. Everything happened.
Farida said that both of them used to fight over small matters. There were love fights. Both fought like children. Jaya also got angry easily.
