Auto’s eco-friendly gambit amid heatwave alert, online debate rages on
The rapidly rising temperatures across the country have put people in dire straits. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no sign of relief from the heat wave for the next few days. The IMD has issued an orange alert for heatwave in many states of North India. The temperature has crossed 45 degree Celsius in many cities including Delhi-NCR. Meanwhile, a video reel comparing some cities, especially Delhi-NCR and Hyderabad, is going viral.

In the video, a yellow colored auto rickshaw can be seen plying the roads of Hyderabad, with a cooler in the back and a khus and jute strip on the roof. It has been written on this video that, ‘The temperature has crossed 45 degrees. Gurugram and NCR can learn this from Hyderabad.

This video reel of just a few seconds has attracted the attention of millions of online users. Almost one lakh people have liked it so far. About 45 thousand users have also shared it. The caption of the video reads, ‘If you have the courage to step out of the house, you are alive…’ hundreds of users have given mixed reactions. Many users have written the names of other cities including Agra in the list of Delhi-NCR and Gurugram to be included in it.
This experiment is eco friendly and requires time
On the video post, a user wrote, ‘Our auto drivers want 150 rupees first.’ Another user commented, ‘Auto drivers in Mumbai will be the first to put on music players and disco lights even if the temperature is 45 degrees.’ Taking the auto driver’s side, a third user wrote, ‘But, Delhi Traffic Police will issue a challan to the auto driver for making illegal changes.’ A fourth user called the experiment eco-friendly and called it the need of the hour. Many users typed a message in the comment section to plant a large number of trees.
