Sudhanshu said what is different about Anupama that people like so much. He also spoke about his friendship with Rajan Shahi, leaving the show and being sidelined by the producer.

The show changed lives
Sudhanshu Pandey of Anupama fame was recently on Siddharth Kanan’s show. There he said about the serial, I don’t know how much this show has changed my life but there are two types of viewers. Who watches movies and OTT. Others who watch TV. I think this show has made me very popular among TV viewers. Not just me or Rupali or the rest of the cast, producer Rajan Shahi too has experienced a landmark transformation.
That is why Anupama became popular
Sudhanshu said, I think every 10-15 years there is a show that becomes a cult and our show has become a cult. This came at the time of covid. People were at home at that time. Back then, there were shows with big houses, expensive jewelry, expensive looking sets. Suddenly Anupama changed the backdrop. It had a middle class house, a small kitchen, a dining table and a sofa and a hammock. The middle class setup changed the whole trend. Suddenly people joined Anupama’s family members.
Rajan is an old friend
Is Sudhanshu the makers’ favourite? To this he jokingly replied, If I had received such importance and closeness and love from Rajan, who is my old and good friend, I would have been in an incomparable role. If people think so, it is wrong. I am not incomparable. I don’t wear sarees. It is Rupali. I am Vanraj Shah and will remain so. I think Rajan Shahi is a very balanced producer, he will not compromise the show for emotional reasons.
Will you leave the show?
On the news of quitting the show, Sudhanshu said, I never thought of quitting the show. I have never spoken to anyone about this. I think I have worked hard, today the character of Vanraj Shah has become iconic. Why would you consider leaving when the show is at its peak. Yes, if I ever feel that I am tired of playing this role, I will think about it.
