Anurag did not like animals at first
Anurag Kashyap on his daughter Aaliya’s podcast ‘Young, Dumb and Anxious’ explains why he praised Sandeep Vanga amid criticism and why he supported the film ‘Animal’. During the conversation, Alia Kashyap expressed dismay at her father Anurag Kashyap’s Instagram post promoting Sandeep Reddy Vanga. Alia told him that when I saw ‘Animal’ I immediately called you and said, “This is a horrible and misogynistic film and I felt so bad, and you agreed with me.” A week later when I opened Instagram, I saw a post of my father promoting a person I had bad mouthed about my father.
When Anurag was cancelled
Anurag Kashyap then told his daughter, referring to his films, “You were very young when your father used to get canceled because of his films.” He further said that many people canceled me when Dev-D was released. I had become an untouchable. Anurag Kashyap said, “I have often seen people being isolated and attacking someone. This is no way.”
Anurag praised Sandeep Vanga
Anurag said that he invited Sandeep and the conversation lasted for 5 hours. Anurag Kashyap said that he wanted to talk to Sandeep about his film. He said, “I have some questions of my own and want to talk to him about his film. I invited him and I had a long conversation with him for five hours and I like the guy.”
After this, Anurag Kashyap said that people will feel the impact of the film after 5-10 years. Praising the action of the film, he said that after ‘Animal’, the action of every film feels fake. He took the name ‘Bade Mian Chhote Mian’ as an example.
