Talking to Komal Nahta, Farah Khan said that the casting of Arjun Rampal was done at the last minute. He said that he was looking for an actor who looked handsome like Shahrukh Khan. That’s why he was looking for a hero like Arjun as the last hero had also turned down the role and he met Arjun Rampal at Shah Rukh Khan’s New Year’s Eve party and narrated the story of the film in the actor’s bathroom.

He said that the shooting of that character was to start from January 6. The set was ready. On the night of December 31, there was a party at Shahrukh Khan’s house and we saw Arjun Rampal. We caught him and took him to Shah Rukh Khan’s bathroom and locked the door. This time we told him a story. But despite all this, Arjun refused the role saying that he is too ugly. But Shahrukh Khan called him and explained. Finally, two days before the shoot, she said yes to Mukesh Mehra’s role and her costume was ready.
