Rishi Kapoor took this award, but he always regretted it. Rishi Kapoor revealed that he met a PR agent, who asked him – Do you want the Best Actor award? Rishi Kapoor replied – Why not. The PR agent replied – Arrange 30 thousand and the Filmfare Award for Best Actor is yours. Then Rishi Kapoor gave 30 thousand rupees to the agent and he got this award.

When Rishi Kapoor started doing films with Amitabh Bachchan, he felt guilty about it. Rishi said his secretary Ghanshyam also agreed to accept the award by paying his money. However, Amitabh Bachchan came to know much later that Rishi Kapoor had bought the Filmfare Award for Best Actor by paying money.

Rishi Kapoor said in his autobiography that – ‘I was a child then and I did not know where money should be spent and where not. I was only 22 years old then. I had no idea where to spend the money. I later realized my mistake.
