BCCI announces Indian women’s squad for South Africa series, know who is in and who is out?

India vs South Africa: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian women’s squad for the multi-format series against South Africa on Thursday, May 30. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the Indian team in all three formats, while Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy. Batter Jemimah Rodrigues and fast bowler Pooja Vastrakar are part of the trio, but their availability will depend on fitness. South Africa’s tour of India will begin with a three-match ODI series, followed by a Test match and then a three-match T20I series. Before the start of the ODI series, the visiting team will play a warm-up match against the Board President’s XI in Bengaluru on June 13.

Babar Azam became the second player to cross the 4000-run mark in T20I cricket, narrowly missing Virat Kohli’s record.

The three-match ODI series between India vs South Africa will also be played in Bengaluru, while the other four matches of the tour will be played in Chennai. The warm-up matches will be followed by ODI matches on June 16, 19 and 23. The only Test match will be played from June 28. South Africa’s tour of India will conclude with the T20 series. The first match of the series will be played on 5th July, the second on 7th and the third and final match on 9th July.

This lone Test match will be India’s third Test match in the last seven months. In December last year, Team India played one Test match each against England and Australia. India won against both the teams with good performances.
