New Delhi. The Afghanistan team, which has been performing brilliantly in the T20 World Cup 2024, has suffered a major setback even before entering the Super-8. Afghanistan’s star off-spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rehman has been ruled out of the tournament. The 23-year-old Mujeeb has been making significant contributions to Afghanistan cricket over the past few years. It is an important part of Afghanistan’s spin battery. Hazratullah Zazai has been included in the Afghanistan team in place of Mujeeb.
As for the T20 World Cup 2024, Mujeeb did not get many opportunities on the fast pitches in the tournament. He appeared in just one match of Group C, where he did well against Uganda, taking 1/16 in three overs. He is now out of the tournament due to a finger injury. So far he has taken 59 wickets in 46 T20 internationals. His economy during this period was 6.35.
