Last date till 30th June
Let us tell you that the Ministry of Health had set the deadline for linking ABHA number with CGHS ID to 30 June, 2024. At the same time, many questions were raised regarding this linking. The Ministry of Health issued a statement in this regard in the month of April. According to the health ministry, the government has no intention of linking the identity card (ID) of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) beneficiaries with the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) number.
What the ministry said
The ministry then said that – a lot of misinformation is being spread about the recent move to link CGHS records with ABHA numbers. It is a unique health ID based on ‘Aadhaar’. The ministry said the need for ABHA has arisen because ‘Aadhaar’ details cannot be saved on the system without implementing Aadhaar Vault and other security systems.
The health ministry said the initiative will help CGHS beneficiaries access their health records on their mobile phones, thereby saving money spent on frequent check-ups. According to the ministry, ‘aura’ is being implemented wherever health records are maintained.
