BPSC Recruitment 2024: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has re-opened the online application form window for recruitment to the post of Block Horticulture Officer. The Commission has taken this decision following the order of the Patna High Court in the case of Ranjit Kumar Ray and others v. State of Bihar and others. According to the notice issued by BPSC, the Hon’ble High Court has issued an order in this regard on 16 May 2024.

Application Eligibility:
A total of 318 posts are to be selected in this BPSC recruitment. Candidates willing to apply for this recruitment should have Bachelor Degree in Science, preferably in Horticulture. Vacancies sent to BPSC on 3rd February:
Horticulture officers will be appointed soon in all 318 blocks of the state. To complete the block horticulture officer selection process, the agriculture department sent the vacancy to BPSC through general administration in early February. Schemes related to gardens are affected due to shortage of garden officers. At present there are regular horticulture officers in 40 blocks. 148 blocks have horticulture officers on contract. After the appointment of 318 block horticulture officers, the posts of horticulture officers will be filled in all the blocks. Block Horticulture Officer can get promotion to the post of Senior Horticulture Officer. The post of Senior Block Horticulture Officer has been recognized. For appointment to the post of Block Horticulture Officer, candidates must have B.Sc Agriculture Horticulture. Then must have passed B.Sc Agriculture Elective. Final selection of garden officers will be done after written test and interview from BPSC.
