There is going to be a bumper recruitment of medical teachers and assistant professors in the state. More than two and a half thousand vacancies of medical teachers in government medical colleges will be filled soon. The Government has authorized the appointment of Principals of all these Government Medical Colleges.
At the same time, preparations have been started for the recruitment of 1017 posts of Assistant Professor in State Aided Colleges. The Office of the Director of Higher Education has sent a request to the newly formed Uttar Pradesh Shiksha Seva Aayog for recruitment to these posts. Along with this, the directorate has sent a request to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission for the recruitment of 582 posts of Assistant Professor in Government Colleges.
The posts of medical teachers on contract basis will be filled through walk in interview. Shortage of faculty in medical colleges is a major issue. Recently, the NMC has levied a penalty of crores of rupees from government and non-government medical colleges in the state that do not meet the norms. A proposal was sent to the Government on behalf of the Directorate General to empower the Principals of Government Allopathic Medical Colleges to fill up the vacant posts on contract basis. The government has approved it. The principal secretary of the department, Partha Sarathi Sen Sharma, issued an order in this regard on the last day.
