CBI takes over Latur NEET paper leak case from police, petitions court for custody of arrested accused

Mumbai:

CBI has finally taken over the Latur NEET paper leak case. A CBI team reached Latur today, where it collected documents from the Latur police and filed a court application for the custody of arrested accused Jalil Pathan and Sanjay Jadhav. The application is scheduled to be heard tomorrow. Meanwhile, when the case was handed over to the CBI, defense lawyer Balwantrao Jadhav claimed that the Latur paper leak case had nothing to do with Delhi. Jadhav said that now CBI is investigating, but our Latur police is doing good work. We will see if the investigation that has been done in court in 7 days joins us tomorrow or not and then we will plead our case in court.

The Shivaji Nagar police in Latur registered a case on June 23 on the complaint of the Maharashtra ATS and have so far arrested two teachers. Jalil was the headmaster of a Pathan Zilla Parishad school while Sanjay Jadhav was a teacher in a school in Solapur.

14 admit cards were found from the mobiles of both

According to the police, 14 admit cards of the NEET exam were recovered from the mobile phone gallery of the duo, out of which 8 to 9 were from schools in Patna. The children are residents of Latur and Beed districts. It is alleged that the two made a deal of Rs 5 lakh per student to get more than 650 marks in the NEET exam and then send their information to Dharashiv and Eranna Kongalwar, supervisor of the ITI institute in Gangadhar, Delhi. Allegedly, both were working as agents in the paper leak case.

All the cases in the country were handed over to the CBI

Till now Latur police was investigating the matter. After the issue of NEET paper leak came to light in various states of the country, now the investigation of all the cases has been handed over to the CBI. According to the Latur police, investigations so far suggest that the Latur case is not a paper leak but malpractice or malpractice at the examination centres.

However, it is also true that despite all efforts, the Latur police could not nab the two absconding accused, Irana and Gangadhar. Only after the arrest of both the real game of Latur paper leak case will come out.

Paper leak case reverberated in Maharashtra Assembly

Meanwhile, the Latur paper leak issue resonated in the Maharashtra Assembly as well. Regarding this, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has announced to make a strict law against paper leaks. Fadnavis said that it is not that we don’t have laws today, but special laws are made for specific circumstances. According to the present law, sometimes we have to apply Article 420 and sometimes something else. There is a law for university examinations since 1982, but a comprehensive law needs to be drafted for competitive examinations. The central government has done it and the state government will also do it.
