BCCI has announced the Indian squad for Asia Cup 2023. KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer return to the 17-member squad, who were ruled out due to injury. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and veteran Krishna have also been included. Both are currently on a tour of Ireland. Tilak Verma has been selected in the ODI squad for the first time. However, the non-selection of leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has left many cricket fans confused. It is being said that the Indian players will be selected from the Asia Cup squad for the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. However, Team India captain Rohit Sharma has made it clear that the rest of the players, including Chahal, still hope to make it to the World Cup squad. He said this after announcing the Indian squad for the Asia Cup on Monday. “The door is still not closed for the World Cup for other players including Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin and Washington Sundar,” Rohit told a press conference. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar was also present in this press conference.

Let us tell you that the next World Cup will be held in India from October 5 to November 19. India is hosting the World Cup alone for the first time. 10 teams will participate in this tournament. All the teams have to submit their respective squad lists to the ICC by September 5. However, teams are allowed to make changes until September 27. All teams must have 15 players each in their squad. From September 5 to September 27, teams will be allowed to change their squads without any permission but will require ICC approval to change their squads.
