Chandu Champion Review: ‘I’m Not Chandu, I’m Champion’, Karthik Aaryan stars as Muralikant Petkar, best performance ever

New Delhi: Chandu Champion will win your heart and fill your mind with deep feelings of life. Filled with brilliant performances by Karthik Aaryan, this film is the life story of famous personality Muralikant Petkar. The film is produced by Nadiadwala’s grandson. The film takes you back to the era of 1970s, when Muralikant Petkar became the Olympic champion against all odds.

The film shows that Muralikant Petkar dreams of winning an Olympic medal as a child. He is inspired by Dara Singh and started wrestling at a young age. They learn wrestling tricks by watching other wrestlers in the arena. When they defeat their opponents in local competitions without any formal training, people are amazed. The first half of the film traces his journey from a youth to a professional athlete, who later becomes a soldier in the Indian Army.

After watching the film, some viewers may compare it to ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’. In both the films, the hero is seen undergoing rigorous training in a military training camp. In the first half of the film, you will see Kartik Aryan having fun, eating and training with his friends. He transforms from a wrestler to a boxer at the training center. Karthik’s transformation into Murali’s character might remind you of Sylvester Stallone’s ‘Rocky’.

The story is fantastic and the direction is also amazing.
The second half of the film takes you on a rollercoaster ride of emotions. In the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, Murali becomes paralyzed due to 9 bullet wounds, the physical and mental pain he goes through leaves the audience emotional. The story of Murali’s transformation from a common man to a Paralympic gold medalist in the second half gives the audience a special experience. Karthik Aryan has given the best performance of his career in this film. Vijay Raj, Rajpal Yadav and Bhuvan Arora have also done justice to their respective roles. On the strength of Kabir Khan’s direction and brilliant story, ‘Chandu Champion’ has become a memorable experience for the audience.
