Earlier, India announced on Thursday (September 21) that Canadian citizens will not get visas for now. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “Our High Commission and Consulate in Canada are facing security threats. Due to this India is temporarily unable to process visa applications from Canada. ,
What did Canadian PM Justin Trudeau say?
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau told MPs – “The involvement of a foreign government in the killing of a citizen on Canadian soil is a violation of our country’s sovereignty. We will press the Indian government to cooperate with the investigation into this murder.”
Justin Trudeau said – “The large population of Indian-origin Sikhs living in Canada is outraged by the killing. Many Sikhs fear for their safety. There are 14-18 lakh people of Indian origin in the country. “They are Canadian citizens. , many of whom are Sikhs. Jagmeet Singh, leader of Canada’s opposition New Democratic Party, hails from the Sikh community.”
India gave a jaw-dropping response
India has rejected all the allegations leveled by Canada. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said, “All allegations of Canada are nonsense. Similar allegations were leveled against our PM Modi by the Prime Minister of Canada. They were completely rejected.”
The Ministry of External Affairs said, “Such baseless allegations are an attempt to divert attention from Khalistan terrorists and extremists. They have been given sanctuary in Canada. It is a threat to India’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
Diplomat removed, advisory also issued
Amid this controversy, both the countries have expelled one diplomat each from the country. An advisory has also been issued to their respective citizens.
