Bollywood actress Pooja Hegde has a new exciting project. Director Karthik Subbaraj announced on Saturday (June 1) that Pooja has been cast opposite Suriya in his next film. In the picture shared by Karthik, the actress was seen wearing a saree with traditional gold jewellery. Karthik enlisted the help of X to promote the film. In it he wrote, “Delighted to welcome @hegdepooja for #Surya44. Welcome to #PoojaHegde #LoveAfterWar #EkarthikSubbarajPadam.” The poster he shared is similar to the one he shared during the promotion of the film. It has ‘Pooja Hegde Swagat Chae’ written on it.

Pooja can be seen standing near a post which was earlier shown in the advertisement poster. Dressed in a sari, she smiles even amid the flames. This is the first time Pooja will be sharing the screen with Surya.

Suriya’s film with Karthik Subbaraj

Surya had announced in March this year that she would be working with Karthik. He shared an advertisement poster showing a burning vintage car. On a tree in front of him was carved a heart with an arrow piercing through it. ‘Love, Laughter and War’ seems to be the tagline of the film. The film, which is yet to be titled, will have music by Santosh Narayanan and cinematography by Shreyas Krishna.

Suriya was supposed to team up with director Vethrimaran for Vaadi Vasal but the film has been shelved for now. He was also supposed to work with Pa Ranjith but it seems that the film did not materialize. He later announced his second film with Sudha Kongara, titled Purannuru, but the film was delayed as the pair wanted to ‘do justice to the story’.

Other projects of Pooja Hegde

Pooja has been cast opposite Shahid Kapoor in Roshan Andrews’ film De. She will also be seen working with Ahan Shetty in Adnan A Shaikh and Yasir Jah’s Sanki. Pooja was last seen in the 2023 film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan opposite Salman Khan.
