New Delhi. Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Amol Kale also came to watch the match on the ground when the Indian team was facing the Pakistan veterans on the tough pitch in New York. In the midst of this conflict, Amol Kale suffered a heart attack, which led to his death. He watched the match against Pakistan at the Nassau County Stadium in New York on Sunday along with MCA secretary Ajinkya Naik and office bearer Suraj Samat. During his tenure, Amol Kale successfully hosted World Cup 2023 matches at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, including the semi-final between India and New Zealand.
With Amol Kale as its president, the Mumbai cricket team managed to win the Ranji Trophy tournament 2023-24. Kale is a big name in the Mumbai cricket circuit. He was also on the core committee of the Street Premier League and his plan was to revive the Mumbai T20 League. He was also in charge when the MCA took the landmark decision that Mumbai players would get a match fee equal to the match fee paid by the BCCI to its players. Sanke Naik is currently the vice-president and is likely to take charge of the Mumbai Cricket Association on an interim basis.
