Delhi: 2 children have died due to drowning in rain water in Siraspur underpass.

Rain continued in Delhi on Saturday as well. Rain lashed many areas of the national capital on Saturday as well. However, in the meantime, the Siraspur underpass in Delhi was inundated with nearly three feet of water due to rains, leading to the drowning of two children. After receiving information about the incident, a search operation was conducted and the bodies of both were recovered.

According to the police, Samayapur Badli Police Station received information about the drowning of a 12-year-old child in the Siraspur underpass at 2.25 pm. The police reached the spot and found that the Siraspur underpass near the metro was filled with two and a half to three feet of water.

The fire department took out the bodies

After this, the police informed the fire department. A search operation was carried out by the fire department after reaching the spot. After which the dead bodies of both the children were found.

A suspected case of drowning while bathing

According to the police, prima facie it appears to be a suspicious case of boys drowning while bathing. Action is being taken under Section 174 of CrPC in this matter.

One person died due to drowning in Okhla underpass

On the other hand, one person died due to drowning in Okhla underpass. At 6.30 am on Friday, the police received information about a person drowning in the Okhla underpass. After this, when the police reached the spot, they found a person unconscious. He was pulled out of the water and sent to AIIMS, where doctors declared him brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Digvijay Kumar Chaudhary, a resident of Delhi’s Badarpur area.
