Indian team’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja could not perform as expected in the T20 World Cup 2024. Due to which his role in the victory of the team has not been much. India managed to win their first three matches in T20 World Cup 2024 and qualified for Super-8. Former Indian cricketer Akash Chopra believes that the Rohit Sharma-led Indian team has lost faith in Ravindra Jadeja’s abilities due to his poor form. Jadeja has not been able to perform particularly well with bat and ball in the ongoing tournament.
Ravindra Jadeja did not bowl a single over in the match against America. Chopra believes Rohit Jadeja’s failure to bowl against the good American batting shows a lack of confidence. Akash Chopra said in his YouTube video, “The biggest question is what is being done with Ravindra Jadeja? The skipper refused to bowl a single over to Jadeja. Shivam Dubey was bowled. However, he proved too expensive and it seemed that he was not quite ready to bowl at this stage.
He continued, “However, Jaddu has suddenly lost confidence after not giving him a single over and later not putting him to bat at the top of the order. He needs to pick up some runs and wickets as the tournament has not been good for him.
Jadeja has not been sent further up the batting order even while chasing the target against America. Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dubey led the team to victory. Ravindra Jadeja has bowled just three overs in the T20 World Cup 2024. However, the spinners were not getting much help on the New York pitch and the fast bowlers took most of the wickets.
