Suryakumar Yadav was caught on the boundary line by David Miller in the last over of the T20 World Cup 2024 final match. This was a turning point in the final match played between India and South Africa. The field umpire took the help of the third umpire and asked to check the catch, as Suryakumar Yadav took the catch before the boundary and then tossed it out of the boundary and then came in and took the catch again. The third umpire observed that no part of Surya’s body touched the boundary line when the ball was in his hands. In this case it was a clean catch.
However, fans of the South African team made a different claim and said that Surya’s foot was touching the cushion of the boundary line. Some pictures and videos went viral on social media that the boundary was moved. On this came the statement of South African legend and former all-rounder Shaun Pollock, who was doing the commentary in the tournament. By taking which they have turned the milk of milk into water. Speaking to the Times of Karachi channel after the match, Pollock said, “The debate is over, Miller’s catch was brilliant, the cushion didn’t move, Surya didn’t stand on the cushion, it was a great example of skill.”
