Diljit Dosanjh was questioned about not wearing a turban in ‘Chamkila’, Amy Virk made a big statement, said- ‘I did it for money…’

New Delhi, Diljit Dosanjh won much applause for his performance in the biopic of Punjabi singer Amar Singh Chamkila. In this film, he played the lead role of singer Amar Singh Chamkila. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Diljit Dosanjh was seen with short hair and without a turban. Punjabi rapper Naseeb questioned the actor for not wearing a turban in the film and now Punjabi singer and actor Amy Virk has also jumped into the debate.

Amy Virk has supported actor Diljit Dosanjh for wearing a turban in the film. In an interview to India Today, Amy says, ‘That film (Amar Singh Chamkila) was such that Diljit had to show that look. That movie was based on Amar Singh Chamkila and we all know that he cut his hair, but sometimes he wore legs too.

Supporting Diljit Dosanjh, the actor further said, ‘Diljit did not cut his hair for money in the film, nor did he take off his turban for money. Instead, we should see where he took the turban from. He wore a turban while performing at Coachella and it filled the entire stadium.

Let us tell you that Imtiaz Ali revealed in one of his interviews that Diljit did not cut his hair for his film but wore a wig. While talking to Radio Nasha, Imtiaz Ali said, ‘I don’t want to share his personal information, but he wore a wig in the film and that wig was similar to his turban’. Imtiaz Ali said that Diljit played the character of Amar Singh Chamkila on screen with full enthusiasm with the help of a wig in the film.
