Diljit falls in love at age 8, steals two bananas from fridge, plans to run away from home

Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh told in a podcast how he ran away from home when he was just 8 years old. The actor said that he decided to run away from home after falling in love with a girl from his school. Because of this girl, he used to lie to his family that he was going to school, when he was bunking. Diljit Dosanjh was initially seen in Punjabi films but his presence in Bollywood has grown exponentially in the last few years. His recently released film ‘Chamkila’ on Netflix was a super hit.

Proposed the girl on the advice of seniors

Diljit Dosanjh said in a conversation with Raj Shimani that I thought it was the end of the world. Recounting his childhood stories, the actor said, “I tried to run away from home when I was just 8 years old. There was a girl in my school who made me run away. When I was in school, my seniors would randomly ask us, ‘What do you want?’ like a girl?’ My seniors said, ‘Go tell her your feelings and then you will marry her.’

Diljit Dosanjh said I thought it was fine. I went to that girl and told her that you and I will get married. He went and complained to my teacher and my teacher told him to go and call his parents and get him. It was like the end of the world for me. After this Diljit Dosanjh tells how he is preparing to run away from home and how his plan to run away from home has been revealed to everyone. “I went home, opened the fridge, took two bananas, some fruits, picked up my bicycle and left,” he said.

Diljit Dosanjh said that I had reached five minutes away from my house when a villager shouted and asked where are you going? Go back to your house. It wasn’t like back then that no one could shout at you except your family members. It was common in the village at that time that any villager would shout and scold children on sight.
