Dollar vs Rupee today: The rupee opened steady against the US dollar in early trade on Friday, amid a negative trend in domestic bourses and strength in the US currency in overseas markets. The rupee opened at 83.54 per dollar on June 14 in the interbank foreign exchange market. It touched 83.52 per dollar after the initial trade.

Yesterday i.e. Wednesday, the Indian Rupee closed at 83.54 against the US Dollar.

Meanwhile, the dollar index, which measures the strength or weakness of the US dollar against six major world currencies, rose 0.09 percent to 105.29.

Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures were trading down 0.44 percent at US$82.39 a barrel.

According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were sellers in the capital market on Thursday and bought Rs. 3,033 crore worth of shares were sold.
