Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has openly expressed his views on various issues in a special conversation with NDTV. In response to a question on the issue of China, he said that there is a good atmosphere of communication between the two countries at the commander level. I think we should wait for the results. What did Rajnath Singh say on Agniveer Yojana?
Regarding Agniveer Yojana, Rajnath Singh said that it is a very successful start. Any country wants youth to be in our army. This was the main motive behind this plan. Another objective is that we should have people in our society whom we can pick up from the society and deploy in the country’s army whenever required. Is such a plan wrong, have we done something wrong?
BJP can never even think of changing the constitution: Rajnath
On the opposition parties’ allegations of changing the constitution, Rajnath Singh said that Indira Gandhi first changed the preamble of the constitution in 1976. BJP will never tamper with the constitution. Rajnath Singh said that BJP can never even think about this. He said that there was consensus in our Constituent Assembly that the Constitution can be amended as per need. Congress and other political parties have done this many times but there is no mention of changing the preamble. But Congress did this and now they are trying to blame us.
No reservation based on religion: Rajnath Singh
Rajnath Singh said that BJP has no plans to do away with caste-based reservation, but will never give reservation on the basis of religion. He said, “Why should we do away with reservations? This country needs reservations for OBCs, STs. The opposition is talking about giving reservations on the basis of religion. But we are saying that in any situation we will give reservations on the basis of religion. What? Not giving reservations.
