TDP’s Ram Mohan Naidu, Prafull Patel’s successor and the current aviation minister, visited the Delhi airport and told reporters that the DGCA would investigate the accident. He also said that all flights departing from T1 have been cancelled. Passengers affected by the terminal closure will receive a full refund. Praful Patel’s backlash comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the T1 building with Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Khadge claimed that corruption and criminal negligence were responsible for the poor infrastructure in the last 10 years of the Modi government. Naidu objected to “false information” in the Congress leader’s statement and pointed out that the prime minister had inaugurated a separate building. The incident is reported to have taken place at 5.30 am. The government will give Rs 20 lakh to the family of the killed person and Rs 3 lakh each to the injured.
