Imran Khan has argued that he left the cipher in the Prime Minister’s Office, but after details of the cipher were published in Britain’s media house Interceptor, it is believed that Imran Khan himself leaked it.
There is a provision of severe punishment
The Pakistan Senate recently amended the Army Act and the Official Secrets Act. Under this, severe punishment is provided for anyone defaming Pakistan or the Pakistan Army through any confidential papers. It is believed that this cipher was done with the intention of pinning Imran Khan in the case.
