Former England captain and great cricket commentator Nasir Hussain praised Indian captain Rohit Sharma’s mindset and innings played against Australia. He says that after losing the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-final against England, the mindset of Team India, led by captain Rohit Sharma, has changed. Nasir Hussain has said that his innings against Australia was one of the best he has seen in white-ball cricket. Rohit also tried to give Team India a quick start in every ODI World Cup match.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Nasir Hussain said about Rohit Sharma, “The semi-final (T20 against England) in Adelaide changed the mentality of the Indian team and the team captain Rohit Sharma. World Cup 2022 semi-final) – This has been clearly seen in the 50-over World Cup and now in the 20-over World Cup. It was completely led by Rohit Sharma. You want to talk as a captain and he has done that. That innings (92 in the Super 8 against Australia) was one of the best white-ball innings I’ve ever seen, it was an absolutely brilliant innings against Australia.”

Team India suffered its first blow in the second over, when Virat Kohli returned to the pavilion without scoring a run. In such a situation, if Rohit Sharma had batted cautiously against Australia, no one would have raised a finger on him. However, he decided to be aggressive and scored 29 against Mitchell Starc in the third over itself. He beat every bowler. He was dismissed for 92 off 41 balls and this innings saw India score 200 plus runs, which was useful for the team as Australia had a long batting lineup.
