David Johnson Died: Former Indian fast bowler David Johnson passed away at the age of 52 in Bengaluru on Thursday. David Johnson died after falling from the balcony of his fourth-floor apartment, a Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) official said on Thursday. He was 52 years old and is survived by his wife and two children. He played two Test matches in 1996, in which he took three wickets. In his domestic career, he played 39 first-class matches, in which he took 125 wickets. He managed to take five wickets four times and ten wickets once. Johnson was one of India’s fastest bowlers and his performances in the domestic circuit were outstanding. During the 1995–96 Ranji Trophy season, he made his mark in Indian cricket by taking 10 wickets for 152 runs against Kerala.

David Johnson made his Test debut in 1996 against Australia in New Delhi. He was successful in dismissing Michael Slater during Australia’s tour of India.

The right-arm bowler was also part of the South Africa tour, but only got a chance to play in the first Test, where he took the wickets of Herschel Gibbs and Brian McMillan.
