Gautam Adani meets King of Bhutan, signs major contract for 570 MW green hydro plant


New Delhi:

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani met Bhutan’s King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobagy in Thimpu on Sunday. Meanwhile, he announced the signing of an agreement for the construction of a 570 MW green hydro plant in Bhutan. Along with this, he also talked about cooperation in the development of infrastructure in the neighboring country.

In this regard, Gautam Adani shared a post saying that it is admirable to see PM Bhutan carrying forward His Majesty the King’s vision and pushing forward comprehensive infrastructure initiatives across the country.”

Adani Group will work together on hydro and infra projects in Bhutan

In a post shared on Twitter, Gautam Adani said he was honored to meet the king and his vision for Bhutan and his “ambitious eco-friendly masterplan for the Galephu Mindfulness City, with a large computing center and data facility.”

Adani Group is keen to work together on hydro and other infrastructure projects in Bhutan, he said.

He said, “I am excited to collaborate on these transformational plans along with green energy management for a carbon negative nation.”

In November last year, Gautam Adani met the king of Bhutan and said he was excited to explore opportunities for the Adani group to contribute to green infrastructure development for “our happy and warm neighbour”.
