However, the 38-year-old batsman’s luck was a little worse this time. He suffered the injury on 9 April against former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad. After which he could not enter the field again. Dhawan’s performance during the tournament was also nothing special. Amidst his advancing age, it is expected that he may announce his retirement soon. During an exclusive conversation with ANI news agency, he reflected on his IPL career. Not only this, he has also openly discussed retirement. Dhawan has also admitted that he is currently going through a phase of transformation.



Salami said yes, I too am going through a phase of change. After some time even my cricket wants rest. After this a new chapter of my life will begin. We have a specific time limit to play. Next 1 year or 2 years can be anything XYZ for me.

Talking about his performance in IPL 2024, the star batsman said that unfortunately I got injured this year. I could only participate in 4 or 5 matches for the team.

Continuing his point, Dhawan said that it takes time for a player to recover. My injury is also improving. However, I am not feeling 100 percent fine.
