Meanwhile, as reported by The Mirror, the United Kingdom (UK) has issued a heatwave alert with temperatures expected to reach 26 degrees Celsius by the end of June. This weather warning has become a joke among Indians.

UK “The UK will experience a 48-hour 26-degree Celsius heatwave, with five cities in England set to be the hottest,” the outlet wrote on Twitter. A link to the report has also been provided. The post immediately went viral and received many comments.

According to IMD data, 14 of the country’s 36 sub-divisions have recorded more than 15 heatwave days (when the maximum temperature is at least 40 degrees Celsius and 4.5 degrees above normal) from March 1 to June 9. Many places across the country, including Assam, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh, recorded their highest ever heatwave temperatures in May. The mercury crossed 50 degree Celsius in Rajasthan and came close to this mark in Delhi and Haryana.
