How BJP lost 44 seats in Uttar Pradesh? The party initiated a review

Lucknow

The biggest blow to the BJP in the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 came from Uttar Pradesh, where the BJP and its allies faced defeat in 44 seats. In such a situation, the BJP is now reviewing the reasons for the defeat, so that the damage done is not repeated. Now the BJP president will review the report from the booth level in each seat and through this report the party leadership will be made aware of the situation in Uttar Pradesh.

BJP has started looking for the reason for the defeat and because of this, apart from the losing candidates, the party officials from the Lok Sabha seat will also tell why they lost. Based on this review, efforts will be made to overcome the shortcomings of the BJP. The period of churning has started in the party after not getting the expected result.

A committee of 62 leaders to review the defeat

This time the BJP had set a target of winning all 80 seats in the Lok Sabha elections and party officials were expecting that the BJP would win at least 70 seats, but the results did not come as expected. BJP alone could win only 33 seats. At the same time, including NDA allies, the victory tally reached only 36. That means there were 44 seats which the BJP could not win and a committee of 62 leaders has been formed to review the defeat in these 44 seats.

No matter how much the party reviews, the losing candidates do not shy away from blaming the party leaders. A similar allegation is being made by former BJP MP RK Singh Patel from Banda-Chitrakoot Lok Sabha seat, who lost the election this time.

A review is necessary in view of the upcoming by-elections

The BJP, which lost 44 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, is now reviewing its losses in these seats as some elections are due in the coming days. Nine MLAs have become MPs and by-elections are to be held on these nine seats. This review is necessary to ensure that there is no defeat on these 9 seats and also because the BJP is gearing up to go into the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections in 2027 with a new target.
