One of the biggest Bhojpuri stars today is Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirhua. Born in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, Nirhua hails from an ordinary family. Most of his childhood was spent in Kolkata where his father worked in a factory. Nirhua studied from Kolkata. He then returned to the village. After completing his studies, he thought of singing instead of working. Gaiki was found in his custody. His father, father’s elder brother and cousin all sang.
Encouraged by father
Pyare Lal Yadav, the writer of the famous Bhojpuri song, seems to be his cousin. When Nirhua asked him for advice, he asked him to sing. In the beginning he had to struggle a lot. He used to go to nearby villages to sing. Many times he sang songs all night but did not get money in the morning. Had to come home on foot while returning. If this continued, he decided to give up singing but his father encouraged him. Father told him that people who are not respecting him today, one day these people will long to meet him.
Father died at a young age
Nirhua continued to sing. His father died when he was 19 years old. Being the eldest son of the house, all the responsibilities of the family fell on him. Nirhua used to do only stage shows before and then decided to do an album. His first album was Budhwa Mein Dum Baa. His album did well. People gradually started to recognize him. In 2003, his second album Nirhua Satal Rahe was released. After giving the album to Nirhua Music Company, he returned to the village and engaged in farming. They thought they would go back to the city after the rains were over.
A large number of people flocked to listen to the song
On the other hand the album was released and Nirhua was going for an event in the village itself. On the way he saw a crowd of people in front of him. At first they thought it was a fair. He asked the crowd to leave as he wanted to go to the program, people said that the program is to be held here. Nirhua was surprised to see such a crowd. There were only people far and wide. Then people in the crowd started chanting ‘Nirhua Satal Rahe’. Then he felt that people had come to listen to the song and then he sang the same song throughout the night. This album made him ‘Nirhua’ from Dinesh Lal Yadav.
