New Delhi. Former Indian cricket team opener Gautam Gambhir is imaged as an aggressive player. Gautham has always been ‘serious’ on or off the field. Although he has faced criticism for this, the hero of the 2021 World Champion team says he will remain as he is for life. Former explosive left-arm opener Gambhir in a conversation with R Ashwin said that people come to the ground to see the team win. Other things don’t matter to them. Gautam Gambhir told R Ashwin that there is nothing wrong with this attitude. He said that fans don’t come to see him smile but to see him win on the cricket field. Gautam Gambhir said on Ashwin’s YouTube channel ‘Kutty Stories with Ash’, ‘Sometimes people say he doesn’t smile. He does not love. It is always intense. People don’t come to see me smile. People come to conquer me. We are in the same business. I can’t do anything about it. Gambhir has led KKR to the championship twice under his captaincy. Under Gambhir’s leadership, KKR won the IPL trophy in 2012 and 2014. He says he is not an actor who entertains people.

According to Gautam Gambhir, ‘I am not an entertainer. I am not a Bollywood actor. That I am not a corporate. I am a cricketer and into performing arts. My job is to win and return to the dressing room. A happy dressing room is a winning dressing room. I have every right to fight for my comrades. It is my right to try to defeat the opposing team while maintaining the dignity of the game. This is what I learned. If I stick with cricket, I will do it till the last day of my life. Gambhir had a spat with Virat Kohli in the last season of IPL 2023 as well, though now the two have come together. Gambhir can become the head coach of the Indian team. The BCCI recently approached Gambhir to inquire about his interest in becoming the head coach of the Indian team, but there has been no official statement from either Gambhir or the Indian board.
