The T20 World Cup 2024 final will be played between India and South Africa on Saturday. Former Indian batsman and commentator Mohammad Kaif has given a valuable piece of advice to Virat Kohli ahead of the final. Kaif says Kohli may not be in form yet but he has a chance to become a hero like MS Dhoni. Kohli has scored just 75 runs in seven matches in the current tournament. His account was not opened twice. He could not reach double figures in the semi-finals.

Kaif said in a video shared on social media platform ‘X’ on Friday, “MS Dhoni was not in form in the 2011 World Cup. But after reaching the final, he played around 90 runs. The six he hit over long-on to Kulasekhara is etched in everyone’s mind. That’s why I believe Virat Kohli has a great chance to become a hero. Whatever has happened in the World Cup so far, forget it. Forget not scoring runs. But now is the chance to be a hero.

He further said, “When the ODI World Cup Kohli scored a century in the match between India and South Africa. He played a promising innings. Kohli was not slogging there. Played on merit. He used to hit cricketing shots. I think Kohli should play like this on Saturday too. He should not slog and should not play leaving the wicket. He is a very good player. Kohli should bat till the end. He is a big match player. I’m sure his bat will work.

Let us tell you that former Indian captain Dhoni played a brilliant innings in the final of ODI World Cup 2011. In the title match against Sri Lanka, he scored an unbeaten 91 off 79 balls which included 8 fours and 2 sixes. He shared 109 runs for the fourth wicket with Gautam Gambhir and 54 runs with Yuvraj Singh. Dhoni hit a six and gave India the win. He was awarded player of the match in the final.
