New Delhi. Team India is going to face England in the semi-final match today. The team that wins today will face South Africa in the final for the title. For the past 10 years, India has repeatedly failed to win the title after reaching the knockout stage during ICC tournaments. In such a situation, India’s first World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev has given a piece of advice to Team India on Thursday. He said that not individual but collective performance will play a vital role in deciding whether Rohit Sharma and Co can win the T20 World Cup in West Indies.
“Why should we only talk about Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya or Kuldeep Yadav?”, Kapil said in an exclusive interview to news agency PTI. Everyone has a role to play. Their job is to win the tournament.” He said, “One player’s performance may be important to win the match but everyone has to work in unison to win the tournament. If we depend only on Bumrah or Arshdeep, it will be difficult for us to register a victory.

Kapil Dev said, we should talk about the team. This gives you a better perspective than any single player. One can be a key player but everyone has to contribute to win the World Cup. “Roger Binny, Mohinder Amarnath, Keerti Azad, Yashpal Sharma all gave match-winning performances. If you start relying on one player, it means you won’t win the tournament more often.

Ahead of the semi-final match against England, Kapil Drav congratulated India and hoped that the team would win the trophy. The former Indian skipper said, “My best wishes to the team. I hope the Indian players continue to play the way they are playing. It should not happen that they have a bad day and are out of the tournament (as happened in the 50-over World Cup). Salute to them. I wish him all the best and pray for his happiness.
